what are ya’ll using that is the most effective. I’m not really talking taste here, as most of the stuff out there taste like ass. Most of the time, i just mix up a smoothie w/ some protein, as that really is the best recovery drink around if you use the right proportions. However, sometimes i either dont feel like making one, or dont have time, so what quick mix is working for ya’ll?
Chocolate milk (low fat) with added protein. Sometimes I’ll mix in a banana. mmmmm good.
I have to 2nd the low fat chocolate milk(16 oz). Tastes great after a workout and has the ratio of 4:1 carbs to protein. Also its cheap and simple. No mixing. I usually eat a banana and some almonds too. Next day I feel great.
Choc. milk also. With or with out the extras depending on whats on hand. David K
Endurox or Mexican food depending on the severity of the workout.
4 scoops of Ultra Fuel and 12.5-15g protein. One immediatly and one half hour later. No solids for 1.5 hours after finishing the second ‘hit’.
Total of 200g carbs/25g protein.
I get orange Ultra Fuel and vanilla whey, so it tastes pretty good. The fruit punch flavor is a bit strong for me.
Stuff myself with as much as I can stand and then sleep!!! Works wonders.
Powerade Recovery formula mixed with glutamine powder.
Chocolate Ovaltine with low fat milk - Works great and tastes good too!
I’ve used R4 in the past and have had good results. Currently trying Recoverite but am not as satisfied with it as I was the R4. Will probably try Ultragen by 1st Endurance when the Recoverite runs out. They have a comparison sheet on there website and it appears to have a ton of research behind its ingredients. If I don’t like it I’ll go back to the R4 and forget about experimenting for awhile.
Orange juice fortified with calcium and microwaved potatoes = lots of potassium, calcium, high glycemic carbs, and a little protein.
In a pinch, Endurox with 3 beano pills and 2 simethicone (to counter side-effects)

Fastest and simplest for me is Recoverite by Hammer. It’s easy to mix, tastes slightly better than ass, and I actually feel that it works. Worth trying IMO.
I like chocolate Silk (soy milk) or chocoloate milk.
A Jamba Juice smoothie with whatever boosts I feel I need (protein or multivitamin usually)
