I am looking at all the aero bar options for a new build. Still using my old and trusted Syntace but would like to give the S-bends a try. Which aero bar system would give me the most adjustability in terms of stack height, pad width, pads forward and backwards movement and extension movement. Thanks for the help
profile design t2+ hard to beat for adjustability
.
Thanks, they certainly seem to offer a lot of adjustments. I have not used Profile bars in many years but remember that they were always somewhat mediocre. Have they improved and how is the comfort?
+1 on the T2+
.
IMO the T2+ are pretty much unmatched for adjustability… But the pads really do suck. They get torn up extremely easily and can’t handle sweat very well. Maybe it’s just because I washed mine a lot. But with better pads on there, I don’t think that they can be beat…
P.S. if you need to get them narrower, there are two options: 1. flip the bar mounts around to get another inch total together 2. angle the arm rests up to squeeze your arms close together.
I personally went from the Syntace to the Profile T2+, but I also replaced the stock pads w/ CeeGees. Quite pleased with that set-up; if I had to start over, I’d choose it again.
I had the T2 cobras and I didn’t like them.
I now have 3T Mistrals and I love them. They have a hugh range as far as pad width goes. You can’t move them forward and backwards or up and down but you can just swap stems/add spacers for that. Also the extensions don’t move but you can twist them to make your hand position go in or out. You can also change the angle of the pads which is really awesome.
Thanks guys

Thank you! I can’t believe I never thought of that - exactly what I need to do.
I needed a set of clip-ons for my road-bike to be used as a back-up for a 24hr endurance last month, the LBS had a set of Origin 8 aero-bars for a good price so I picked them up and ended up using them for the bulk of the race. Nice price (about $80) extremely adjustable and really comfortable.
