I didn’t want to hijack the other thread, but I have a Morton’s Neuroma that causes me some moderate discomfort when I wear closed toe shoes (running shoes included) for extended periods. Because of this, I wear Birkenstock sandals most of the time. I have no pain whatsoever when I wear the Birks. Are there any dress or casual dress shoes that I might be able to wear without pain?
I too have a Morton’s Neuroma - the trick for me is to find brands of shoes that are wide in the forefoot. For instance, I had run with Nikes for many years but recently switched to Saucony on the advice of the MD who gives me regular cortisone injections in my foot. Saucony has a wider forefoot and it has really helped. The same goes for dress shoes - I go for the widest forefoot possible because as long as my toes aren’t squished together too much, the nerve between the affected toes is fine. When it gets compressed is when I have issues - hope this helps.
I had to have mine surgically removed on my left foot, but I wear Easy Spirits now when I need a pump. Not sure if they would have been enough when I was in so much pain, though. I agree with the previous poster about wide toe boxes.
If you are looking for a blanket shoe recommendation (I also rec Saucony shoes for the generally wider forefoot), I rec Clarks as they almost universally have a wider forefoot.
Good luck
