Morning training and energy levels

Who else here finds they seem to have much more get up n go throughout the day (aside from perhaps a bit of a slow mid afternoon) if they do a morning workout before work?

I do
.

me too
.

Me three.

Me too, plus I can then drink coffee all morning without having to go to the bathroom all the time.

I do, if it’s not too intense. But, getting warmed up in the morning takes longer and my speed is always slower than the afternoon.

definitely, but I still don’t like getting up.

Getting up is the hardest part huh?

I always have more energy if I work out in the morning. the problem is getting up year sof working in the restaurant industry killed me for mornings, I got used to working until 9pm or 10pm and then partying until 2am and getting up late the next day since the earliest i had to be to work was 11pm. Now I have a normal job schedule and just getting up to make the office by 9am is weird.

I definitely have more energy during the day if I’ve trained in the morning.

there’s no better way to wake up than diving into cold, chlorinated water

I tend to swim faster in the afternoon than I do morning. I have no idea why. Would rather swim in the AM though.

Same for me. I swim better and bike better in the afternoon but running after work is a death march!

My cycling sucks no matter what time of day or night I chose to do it at, but it always appeals to me more in the afternoon (something about afternoon sunlight I think). I can swim at 5 am and it won’t phase me, but I was out on that freakin’ bike at 6:40 this morning and I kept thinking “it is too early to be doing this!!!”

I can be as much as 2 seconds per 100m faster in the afternoon with same amount of effort. Plus stroke always feels much better. Wish more triathlons started in the afternoon!

I wonder why that is. there’s got to be some logical explanation

i guess muscles warmed up by then?

But if you do a nice long warmup then it shouldn’t matter…

maybe that is why there are doubles  swim easy in the morning and then chase the sprinters in the afternoon (smiles mischeviously)

I seem to recall literature mentioning that speed, endurance, etc are 10-155 better in the afternoon than in the morning. I don’t remember where I read that. I haven’t tried to look it up again.

I believe you, but I need the WHYS for things!

“JUst because” :stuck_out_tongue:
