Just to be clear: you’re calling Meg Whitman a wingnut?

She is the least of them for sure, but her sprint to the right at the end of the campaign, one that she was winning by 20pts most of the time, and all the money she spent when it was clear she did not need to, ya, I question her nutbag status…At least in the close races I can see the right sprint to the tea party, but she clearly was the huge frontrunner the entire time, so why all the value shifting at the end there??

To show that she really can be a pol, not JUST a business woman! ;)

Regarding your other post, I think you are spot-on. The dems have lost a little of their appetite for their extreme, as shown by the Halter loss to Lincoln, but the pubs are in the process of putting up several very fringe candidates, and probably hurt their chances in the fall. I’m not sure it makes me unhappy to see TEA party types up for election though, because DC stinks so bad that I’d love to see something shake up the status quo.

Ya, the pubs are shooting themselves in the foot right now. I mean it was just a month or two ago that they were throwing the last shovel of dirt on Harry Reid. He may win by double digits now. I cannot wait to see his commercials on youtube against his wack-a-nut competitor. There were moderate repulican canditates who stood a chance, Tom Campbell in CA, or even the 1st Meg Whitman that showed up months ago. She was very aligned with Arnolds views, but someone told her to get off that track and go anti Arnold. I think it was a big mistake, even though his approval ratigs are in the tank, I bet he would be re-elected if he could run again.
