Does anyone own either of these rides? I am looking to buy a road bike that is going to literally last my lifetime, and I have read a lot of good reviews on the Moots Ti. The downside is that these are pricey, but I would love to hear from anyone who is currently riding a Moots on the road. Many thanks.
Best bike ever. It’s heavy for hauling through the mountains and is stiff like wet cardboard when you’re in a bunch sprint. But if you’re looking for a durable ride that’s gonna outlast you and rides smooth like a cadillac, Moots is your man. Love my Moots. And unlike my wife and friends who have all gone carbon and seem to break a frame a year, I’m not afraid that $5K is down the drain if it tips over. Love my Moots.
Never been on an rsl, but have a compact Vamoots, cross bike, and 26inch mtb. I am a little bias but they are all really nice bikes. I like the low maintenance on the frame up keep. Either WD 40, Pledge liquid, or soap and water and the thing looks great. The corss bike is only three but the others are all over ten years old and look like new if they are clean.
I have a 2007 Moots Compact. Riding it is the closest thing to a religious experience this atheist has ever had. I absolutely love it.
also, if you want information on the RSL, PM me. I know the Moots dealer in Steamboat who helped product test and design the RSL with the Moots folks. Talked to him at length about the RSL.
In short, buy the Moots. You’ll love it. I just got back from a lunch ride and was thinking to myself on the ride that I felt like I was floating in places. I can’t say enough about it.
Thanks for the advice. I need to muster up a few more bucks but think I am going with the RSL. Better be the last road bike I ever buy! I’ll send through some photos after I get it built up in a few months time.
Hope you have discipline, After a dozen years with the same frame, you will be staring at the pretty welds, but will probably still be wanting a new toy. Cross, 29er, you will find a “need” somewhere I promise.

Note - he said last “road” bike he’ll buy - as I would tell my wife, “I never said anything about a SS, MTB, or a tri bike”
