Monterey Peninsula?

I am going to be moving to the Monterey Peninsula (California, that is) this summer. I did a small and fruitless search for tri clubs in the area and the closest I found was in Santa Cruz. Are any of you folks in that area? I have lived there before and know that open water swims are going to hurt.

You are one lucky dude to be moving to Monterey. Although it sure is foggy in the summer, winter time is great. You may want to contact Tri-California as they are headquartered in Pacific Grove and could probably give you all the local info you need.

You are indeed a fortunate soul. Monterey is just about the best place I can think of to live if you like to do things outdoors.

There are a lot of pro athletes who live in the area and I’m sure there are clubs for competitive weekend warriors too.

I know a number of people in the area and i can hook you up with them. They have some great workouts down there, just not sure if they are organized into official club status. Shoot me an email.

Carmel Valley Tri Club. I think there is also a Monterey tri club. I remember seeing a couple singlets at Pacific Grove this year.

I live in Monterey. It is about the best place to live with great conditions for cycling and running. Try the Monterey Peninsula Tri Club (I think it used to be the Carmel Valley Tri Club, not sure thought). If you’re military, there’s the M2T2 team here as well. Hope that helps.
