Moms for "liberty"

I love stories like this, they provide hours and hours of priceless hilarity. Poor librarians, at their wit’s end, now have to scribble underwear and swimsuits on to drawings in kids books.

I never knew so many kids books had nudity. What is the point of that? Why draw a penis on a kid in the book that 5 year olds are reading? Just seems unneeded.

Do you or any of your kids have penises, or rear ends?

Seems so unneeded.

The same reason they draw hands and feet, that’s what kids look like. Presumably, goblins also have butts.

Lady that lives a few doors down from me was, from what I’ve heard, one of the early members of the group when it was founded. Bumper stickers on her car and all that. Shockingly nobody seems to like her even in my GOP loving neighborhood.

I think coneheads are the only bipedal creatures without butts.

Barbie sure felt it was fine to have non anatomical dolls for kids to play with, as are many other kid’s toys.

There is age-appropriate standards throughout life. We don’t sell Playboy and Hustler to little kids.

My kids did not look at books with penis’s and rear ends when they were five.

“Agree or not, this may help you to understand better.” I really doubt it will.

You may want to buy your Playboys and Hustlers somewhere else if the pictures look like goblin butt.

This is so funny, I kinda don’t know where to begin. But I’ll try:

Barbie sure felt it was fine to have non anatomical dolls for kids to play with, as are many other kid’s toys. Two things: not sure I really want Mattel the corporation to be in charge of book censoring or editing. 2nd thing: have you ever looked at Barbie?? Sure, no detailed crotch, but those breasts? Holy toledo!

There is age-appropriate standards throughout life. We don’t sell Playboy and Hustler to little kids.Do you not understand the difference between normal anatomy as it might be accurately portrayed in a kids book, and purveyors of seriously toxic misogyny (playboy, hustler, typical porn)? Apparently not.

My kids did not look at books with penis’s and rear ends when they were five.If your kid was a boy, he sure did. But he didn’t need a book because his body came with a penis. Unrelated, I assume you never let any of your children see any of your body parts at any time in their young childhood either?

My kids did not look at books with penis’s and rear ends when they were five.

Why not, it’s basic anatomy. These are not sexualized images like Hustler and Playboy. What harm were you concerned about? Did you forbid your sons from looking at their own penises?

The issues of who decides what kids get to read is very simple. The parents, period, end of story. The parents’ morality and what is appropriate is the one and only deciding factor of what their kids get to view. Not the school, the library, the teacher or the city council or school board. Really a very simple exercise.

My objection to these books indicated in the first post was the unnecessary use of the depiction of genitals in books for children. Its simply unneeded, unnecessary and not age appropriate under my values.

This seems like to me adults who have issues projecting those issues onto little kids that don’t have issues (yet).

I haven’t seen a Barbie in years but did they big nipples on those breasts you are getting worked up over? I don’t think so.

A kid looking at his own body is different than looking at pictures of anatomically correct naked kids in books. If you can’t see that, then no reason to discuss any further.

score one for moms of liberty.

You get to decide that for your kids, based on your values. Other parents can decide differently for their kids, based on their values. You don’t get to make that decision for them.
