Mold-able shoe insoles that start as flat

I must have weird feet because none of the commercially available insole are comfortable. All the insole, like Sole, start with a heel cup and some arch support. These cups and arches just don’t work for me. Everything just seems to be in the wrong place and I can’t mold them out.

I used to have insoles made at our local ski shop and the insoles they used started out flat and were molded to my feet. I can’t get them to do new insoles anymore (or maybe doing one-off stuff for me isn’t worth the hassle). Can anyone recommend heat-moldable insoles that start out flat and allow you mold them yourself? I could try a pediatrist again, but my luck has been roughly 50-50 and I have had to toss $500 inserts that were just horrible. Nevermind the current Covid situation adds an.other layer of crazy

I do not know of any off-the-shelf moldable inserts like you are looking for.

Retul Futbeds may be the best middle-ground.

You could try the Lake carbon fiber insoles, which are heat-moldable. Another option to look at might be the G8s, which include a set of snap-in arch pieces in different heights that you can move around.

i have the G8. they do have a good amount of adjustability side to side and front to back.
its not infinite esp side to side but they’re the best yet for my finicky feet.
for me shimano high arch hit my foot in a good spot
specailized green has a high enough arch spot but was too concentrated in the center of the foot.

my g8 complaint is the metatarsal arch bump doesnt help me (specialized worked best for me)
and the cup style of the back of the foot extends a long way down toward the toes so my kinda wide feet get a little stymied on the outside edge

on the plus side - the ability to move the arch piece (and even its height) is a big plus for me
i find my foot adjusts to its position and then concentrates pressure in a new spot and is a little ouchy
but then i move the piece a few millimeters and my feet are okay for a while with the slightly different arch pressure spot
(i dont know if that makes ANY sense - but its working for me for now).

It sounds like you’re describing Sidas insoles. They’re fairly ubiquitous in the ski industry, and you should be able to find another retailer that can mold up a set for you (well, once everything opens up again, I guess).

No one that I am aware of offers a self-mold product like this, as they require a bit of infrastructure to mold correctly.

Take a look at the soles of footbalance, that is what you are looking for
