Memory test - Reid's evaluation in 03,04?

Inside Triathlon magazine had an article in 2003 or 2004 about Peter Reid going somewhere out west for an evaluation of some chronic issues. They did xrays, an evaluation on the bike - putting in some shims for a leg-length discrepancy, I think, and evaluated him for running orthotics.

Test time - does anyone remember where he went for the evaluation?

Starbucks in Seattle.

Wow, thanks! I’ve been searching for that information for over an hour… You Win!!

Dr Andy Pruitt, the Specialized footbed man. Given his sponsor has been Specialized for years I’m sure you would have thought of him, eventually.

Andy Pruitt for bike fit

in “What it Takes” he sees some accupunturist in Seattle who wokr specifically with endurance athletes.

It was someone at the Institute For New Medicine in downtown Seattle.

So, do you know whether Peter was happy with the results?

Great! That looks a lot like the article I was remembering. Either Inside Triathlon ran a similar article, or I remembered the mag wrong.

I have to admit, I wondered whether “Andrew” was Andy Pruitt! Guess not, from your info.

Of course, I have an ulterior motive - I’m in PT right now for a peroneal problem I developed at IM FL. Since I also have IT problems and Achilles problems, I saw a sports med person, who found my pelvis is torqued, and I’m doing some right hip flexor/left hamstring strengthening to try to correct it, but my PT wondered whether a shim would be appropriate to help the peroneal problem.

I wonder if Boulder is the best place to go for shim/bike orthotic work, or FitWerx?
