Hey the poverty counters have record high numbers, there's also the record numbers of uninsured; Thanks Obama! ;)

dude, it is Bush’s fault (still).
I’m going long on sweatpants
.
Ahh yes POVERTY in America.
Forty-three percent of all poor households own their own homes.
“Poverty” in America is NOT poverty as we typically define it.

Oh dont get to excited yet.
His people ran the Census so its just part of the bigger pictures where the purse strings open to help out those stricken by Bushs poverty machine.
They aren’t even eating moldy food. What a bunch of sad excuses for “poor” people. I mean, a refrigerator and oven? Who do these people think they are, Donald Trump?
although it is a very small percentage, I am not sure I want to see the makings of a poverty level jacuzzi. “Everyone jump in after taco tuesday.”
poverty level jacuzzi
Isn’t that when they line the bed of the pick-up, fill it up with water and let it sit in the sun all day to warm the water?

I stand corrected…albeit, a bit grossed out ![]()

Good old Heritage, I think, wants to be careful with their logic.
At school our superintendent just sent out a note saying that 60% of our students are on free or reduced lunch, this is basically an all white rural school, yet most of the kids can afford cell phones and Netflix, wonder why that is? You would think the parents would put the money towards feeding their kids instead of paying a monthly bill for a cell phone and movies. Cell phones are just a toy for the 11, 12,13, and 14 year olds to have. I don’t know how i made it through elementary, middle school, high school and college without a cell phone.
Very true. It’d be hard for President Jesus to dig outta that pile of crap he left behind.
They aren’t even eating moldy food.
Let’s see 1.5% of “Poor households” “Often do not have enough food”. In the mean time 66.6% have enough food of the kind we want, compared to 86.1% of everyone else. Yes they are absolutely eating tons of moldy food.
I mean, a refrigerator and oven? Who do these people think they are, Donald Trump?
No not Donald Trump, but they seem to have as much stuff or more than does many in the supposed “Middle class”. There are many things on that list I don’t have…hmmm maybe I’m just poor and don’t realize it.
~Matt
Yes, President Messiah keeps piling it on. We should keep all redeemer figures and Biblical f**kers out of government.
Yup, it's one of those issues where the people pushing to have ever larger numbers, do their cause a disservice. An RCP piece from today hits on that theme as well:
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2011/09/13/understanding_poverty_in_the_us.html
I’m right with you man. Shit, 2/3rds of them have enough food? That only means one third of them are starving!@ That’s fucking amazing. What kind of welfare junkies think they can fool us by calling themselves poor when most them can afford to eat food that is either cooled or heated? This is a damn conspiracy to leech us honest capitalists of our hard earned dollars.
I even looked at the report more. THEY OWN CARS. How the fuck do these people live with themselves, owning means of transportation to get to their McJobs making minimum wage? If I had anything to say about it, they’d walk both ways and earn $3/hr. Who’s with me?
/all of the above should be in pink. you guys are assholes.
all of the above should be in pink. you guys are assholes.
There is poverty as defined in the U.S and then there is poverty as defined in most of the developing world and they are not remotely the same thing.
Yes. I know that. Everyone knows that. Standards are higher here. That’s a GOOD thing.
Except certain people like to pretend that just because our poor people don’t have malaria and a distended stomach that they have it fucking peachy. Having a refrigerator does not suddenly make you middle class.
Yeah if your stereo is portable, like being able to hold it on your shoulder, then you are not middle class either.
