McDonald's isn't lovin' the McMussel

Just got a call from the local McDonald’s franchise here in Geneva. Apparently corporate headquarters saw my McMusselman webpage and didn’t like the liberal use of “Mc” and Ronald’s image, so they informed the local branch of their displeasure.

In case this is still unclear, the whole enchilada was an April Fools joke and not meant to be taken seriously. I’m not into being sued by The McMan, so the offending website has been removed. The branch manager failed to find the humor in my explanation.

On the positive side of things, I have a meeting with her on Thursday to discuss getting McDonald’s involved in the race. I figure with her connection to corporate headquarters already accomplished, this one whould be a no-brainer.

PS I am unclear how McDonald’s deals with people of Scottish lineage. Does Seamus McArdle live in constant fear of litigation?

This was resolved in the 1997 case McDonald’s v UK. An out of court settlement was reached, with the agreement being that all Irish people will change their names to O’-something, and all Scots will spell their names Mac-something.

This doesn’t bode well for me either. I shall have to adopt the scottish spelling of my name lest I am served with a McLawsuit as well.
