I have HED ardennes + (25mm wide) and am running 26c tires without a problem. I tried fitting 28c tires, and the tire rubbed the chainstays. The front could possibly take the 28, but I never tried.

narrower rims could potentially fit 28s… as mine measured 30.4 on the wider rims.

I run 26C Specialized Sworks Turbos on Enve 6.7s with good clearance.
