Pro cyclists that I know usually get daily to three times a week massage during the season. Probably 80% of the top 10 Hawaii Ironman finishers get daily massage a couple weeks out from the event. ( I know the guy who works on a bunch of the pros) He can tell who is going to do well by the way their muscles feel, been listening to him for 20 years, and he don’t miss often… If you are training 20 plus hours a week at least three times a week massage enables you to carry a bigger load. It is unreal how a good massage person can light you up with knots and triggers. Massage, especially deep tissue massage is really really good for you. What I have told you is fact. if you don’t want to do massage, I have no problem with that. I am just telling what guys who make a living in sport have told me for 40 years. Massage is good. A lot of guys are pretty homophobic and want a woman to do the massage. Deep tissue massage is really hard work and a bigger person does have an advantage in giving deep heavy massage. Just because she is cute does not mean a good massage.
