My husband and I sing mashups on rare occasions, like in the car.
He sings: Huey Lewis and the News, Heart of Rock & Roll

I sing (with flair): Men at Work, Dr. Heckyll & Mr. Jive

These two songs work really well because they start off so similarly.
What mashups do you sing?
These are great! Love the muppets one!!
I have a whole folder of mashup mp3s that I’d forgotten about until you posted this!

I think Led Snooppelin was the first mashup I ever heard.

Search for “Party Ben” and “Lenlow” on YouTube for some good ones.

Those are really great. Why is Men at Work so good for mashups? I love the Janis Joplin one. Snoop & Led Zeppelin is cool. (Snoop’s cooking TikToks are fun, too.)
My favorite:

Surprisingly catchy. I’ve probably listened to this one more than I should admit…

Kudos to the person who mixed this one…cracks me up with how they mixed the song at 0:28-ish and 1:35-ish.

Thank you!! I love those so much! They’re so funny and fun.
What is the word that means the thing is greater than the sum of its parts? It’s not serendipity.
I can’t decide which is my favorite.

Because a bit of Australian makes everything better.

Synergy?

I’m beginning to believe so. I wish there was a support group for people who want to transition to Australian. There’s so much I don’t yet know. It’s overwhelming, Frankly.

Yes! And 2008 called and wants its word back.

Back when I used an MP3 player vs. Spotify, these were in heavy rotation

I’m sorry. I don’t recognize any of the music— I’m a failed listener here because I can’t hear any mashing up. Is it disco songs?

Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train
Earth, Wind, and Fire - September
I’d ask how it’s possible to be an adult in 2022 and not recognize either, but I’d bet my wife would struggle with these as well.

love mashups and love this thread, and yeah surprised that those two songs weren’t recognized!
Wife walked by and said “listening to EWF?” I said “listen to the vocals”
I grew up listening to Paul Winter harmonize with wolves and whales, not EWF. Now that’s a mash up!
Share some post-1985 mash ups so I have chance of knowing the original music, please.
