Male lump in the groin area?

I have a lump in the crease of the groin area. More towards the back not near the twigs and berrys but near poop hole. It’s not pain full to the touch but I had some chafing in the area from a ride. I do use chamois cream and never wear the same bibs twice always clean them. Also always remove them when I’m done with my ride and shower. I’m gonna make an appointment with my doctor but since it’s the weekend it has me wondering. I have searched the internet and found many things. From lymph glad etc. just wondering if anyone had this before? My saddle is a year old and it’s the adamo race 2 if anyone needs that. I have been comfortable on it until the past couple of rides.

yeah, Ive had a few of these,

chances are its a sebacious cyst or similar, essentially its scretion from a sweat gland or similar that gets blocked and the goo turns hard like cheese.

in most cases they will go away after 1-3 months, but sometimes they persist in which case you can get them surgically removed, in which case theres about a 50% chance of them coming back anyway. some people are jsut prone to getting them.

I would go see a doctor about it. I had the exact same thing you are talking about and my doctor confirmed it was a cyst. It has gone away on its own.

Cool yea gonna see the doc. Don’t really mess around with lumps in that area. Just wanted to easy my mind a little though.

sebaceous cyst (benign) is high on list but go for check asap -mainly to ease mind
.

Those painful pilonidil cysts are common with cyclists and they tend to go away in 7 to 10 days. If it has a thinned walled head, and if you can stand the pain, I find that squeezing out some of the pus helps. Once open, clean with with soap, apply antibacterial ointment and cover with a band-aid. Frequently applying a warm or hot (wet) washcloth for several minutes seems to help too. I usually get 1 or 2 each summer and they always go away without seeing a doctor. They are caused by pressure (on a hair that gets pushed beneath the skin surface then the immune system attacks it and creates a abscess around the hair), so if you keep getting them try different cycling shorts and/or bike saddles. Good luck!

I got one, diagnosed after an ultrasound, apparently mine is just a thickening of the skin, although it does swell a bit. It’s an ongoing problem for me, but the doc’s really against removing it. I think it has to do with some subtle movement in the saddle, because I have noticed that it gets irritated faster when I put in more effort.
