Does anyone have the Magnus yet? I just got it this week and where it will connect and display power to Swift and trainer road.
IT does not work in erg mode. Actually trainer road only detects it as a power meter and doesn’t even give the option of erg mode
any help would be great
FYI just spoke to trainer road, they do not support the magnus vie bluetooth at this time. it MAY work with ant+
I just posted in your other thread but just to follow up. Update your TrainerRoad app if you haven’t yet. When pairing your trainer to TrainerRoad, only pair the device labeled Ant+ Trainer. That will give you the options to select ERG/Resitance mode or enable/disable powermatch. Disable the other devices from the Magnus by selecting “forget this device”. You’ll probably see 3 total devices from the Magnus because of both Ant+ and Bluetooth connections. PM me and I can send you a photo of what my device list looks like.
I am about the buy the Magnus today with the nashbar coupon.
To confirm if I don’t want the trainer controlled by goal watts (erg mode)
It should work fine in SIM Mode where it changes resistance based on the course? so I will have to shift my gears?
Can you guys confirm it works okay in SIM Mode?
Also my questions might not make any sense as I am very new to indoor trainers!
Yes it works fine shifting gears
Trainer road said today that it just will not work with bluetooth over iOS, it can only read your watts.
but over ant+ erg mode will work, however there is no spin down so you have to calibrate with the cyclops virtual training app then go on trainer road.
they do say that they will fix this in time
Cool Thanks, so with the future fixes being proposed, are you happier with your purchase now?
I am looking to get setup on Zwift.
Was yours backordered at all?
Also saw this posting over on DCRainMaker page for the Magnus
“I can confirm that the calibration value will be stored on the unit itself. So if you get the calibration done in CVT, it will indeed carry over if you plan to use the Magnus over ANT+ FE-C with TR. Once we get the unit in-house (soon), our first priority will be to get that calibration dealt with and then work on BLE support as well.
Just to be clear, right now the Magnus is fully supported (with ERG control) on all versions of TR over ANT+FE-C. BLE, not quite there yet. But it’ll be fully supported via BLE as well down the road.”
The unit is very solid. and looks nice
Actually I got it as warranty for a broken powerbeam trainer.
cyclops customers service is beyond the best!
