M-Dot Tattoo; Cool or Fool

That is the absurdity of the statement, “WHY should we judge people?”

People seem to want to do anything they want a cry “don’t judge me”.

Tatoo’s aren’t my thing, but I care all that much if you want a M-dot. Unless you put it on your forehead then I WILL judge you as a dumb ass.

What? Neither of the sentences above make sense.

Someone made the comment “WHY should we judge people?”

I thinks this is an absurd statement, because we judge people all the time. How they ride there bike, how well they do there job and on and on.

As far as my opinion of an M-dot tatoo goes, It does not bother me if you have one. Unless as I said before “you put it (a tatoo) on your forehead then I WILL judge you as a dumb ass.”

I hope you understand

Nice. I was just thinking during my lunch swim that nice “140.6” underneath would finish it off well.

Dont let the corporate logo argument fool ya. When people see m-dot they think of one of the worlds toughest endurance events, not a corporation.

I have to disagree here. Before getting into this sport I would have thought of that line of Timex watches and not the event. If I had seen someone with it I think I would have been pretty confused as to why someone had a watch logo on their body.

I posted on a similar thread about two years ago that I thought M-Dot tattoos were lame and got the tar kicked out of me.

If the pile of finisher’s gear isn’t enough for you, and getting a tattoo of the M-Dot logo means that much to you, go right ahead and get one. Just realize that like many apsects of life, some people who see it will think it’s stupid, and some will think it’s cool. Others really won’t care. You’ll impress people more with your race results than you will with a tattoo from a shop that just opened up the street last year.

As far as the inevitable correlation between M-Dot and Harleys go, it’s more or less fallacious. Tattoos are part of the underground, ex-con/outlaw subculture, and having a lot of really crappy tattoos are an important part of developing and maintaining your reputation within a set(unless you’re riding with one of those ‘outlaw doctor’ clubs). M-Dot tattoos are a status symbol.

Tattoos are for people who realize that without one they would pass unnoticed, something they hate the thought of.

well put blacksheep. i think the m-dot tatoo – and those who wear em are just pathetic.

because we judge people all the time.<<

Just because it’s done doesn’t mean it’s right.
People cheat (on the spouses, at games/sports, on taxes, etc. etc.) all the time. Is that right?

Unless as I said before “you put it (a tatoo) on your forehead then I WILL judge you as a dumb ass.” I hope you understand <<

Understand, perhaps. Care what you think, no. Now maybe if I were married to you, I would ask your opinion and consider it, but that doesn’t mean I would abide by it.

So we should not make judgements on the cheating?

My wife doesn’t normally ask my opinion, I usually just give, and I don’t recall any abiding happening either.
