Lukas Märtens takes down Paul Biedermann’s 2009 super-suited WR with a 3:39.96 at Stockholm Open yersterday. First man to go under 3:40. Previous life time best of 3:40.33
I guess that just leaves Biedermann’s 200 Free WR from 2009 from the super-suited era?
LCM:
Men - 50m free, 200m free, 800m free, 200m back, 4x200m free relay, 4x100m free relay (debatable, full body, not neoprene) Women - 200m fly (questionable for more than just a suit)
Daniel Wiffen was aiming to beat the 800m free WR at the Irish Open last weekend also. He ended up with a 7:41.52. Very disappointed in his interview. Test were showing he is a lot physically fitter and he felt it also. His twin brother moved to California to train and he is considering it also if he moves on from Loughborough.
I think that one is the hardest. The advantages of the super-suits for men in particular, and over distance was just ridiculous. The 200 is also tough. Thanks to someone, probably SwimSwam affiliate, the textile WRs for super-suited records are here:
