Obvious jokes aside, will using KY Jelly damage your wetsuit? I want to use it for getting out of wetsuits faster AND for chaffing resistance. I have some on hand (haha) and wonder if I should go for the Body Glide? KY is cheap, but the full T1 wetsuit instructions says no petroleum based jellies, and the tube o’ lube doesn’t specify.
Also, where are the strategic places to lube up? I think ankles, neck, and armpit for the swim and the groin for the bike/run.
Since KY is water-based, I’d think it would be fine. On the con side, it probably won’t help you get out of the suit after your swim, because the water that naturally gets in will break it down.
I’ve used body glide and it works pretty well. Most wetsuit manufacturers will tell you that cooking spray isn’t a good idea because it supposedly breaks down the wetsuit but I’ve known people to use it with no apparent negative effect.
