Lowest profile shorty clip-ons?

Hi,
I recently put on a pair of the XXS Syntace bars. While my hands are comfortable, the armrests sit almost 2" higher than my handlebars. I have lowered my stem all the way and am hardly in an aero position. This is obviously how all Syntace bars are designed. Minus any Profile bars, which clip-ons have a low profile. thanks.

Have you tried either the Hed Cliplite or the Visiontech shorties? They are both kind of low.

Here are some proto Heds on my bike from last year:

And the visiontechs:

Is it really not that aero? The only reason I ask is I have profile aerolites on my bars, and the arm rests sit about the same 2" above the bars. However, when I ride aero my back is totally flat. If I were to drop them anymore, say by swapping out pieces or getting new bars, or heck even dropping a spacer or two - which I had thought about doing, I’d end up exposing more back to the wind than anything and it would likely be counterproductive. Take a look at yourself in the mirror or take a pic so we can see if your back is flat or not.

How do you like those VisionTech shorties? I had a set on my road bike and I couldn’t stand them. I thought they were just plain awful.

Tom – Those prototype Heds… Do you know if they’re going into production? And what is the length? Would they accept bar-end shifters? They look like they sit right on the base bars – just what I’m looking for.

Edit ==> Never mind. Saw the Clip Lite’s on the Hed site… $195 for aluminum clip-ons? That’s just criminal…

I am using the Oval A910s - they’re sort of like the heds - nice and light and highly adjustable - they give you several spacer options for pad height - I have mine down to the handlebars…:

They also have aluminum extensions now for a little cheaper price:

.

Get some Profile Jammers with and extra set of spacers/longer bolts.

Mount the extension underneath your bar…
