I had never heard of reach stack. I only see frame stacks on specs. If I go from the BB to my pad, I assume bottom for you elbow, I have not done.
haha meant Fit Stack, and Fit Reach. That is what you really care about. At the end of the day these are the 2 measurements that matter. Measure from BB to where your pad is on your current bike, and you can have your fit stack and reach.
And I thought some of this would be so simple. This is why I want to put my bike next to a P2 and Felt DA, with my fit chart, and just see what the measurements say.
You can see frame stack and reach, but not pad stack and reach. Especially with integrated headsets, it can get complicated. And pad stack and reach isnt’ well published for many bikes. This is why it took me a freaking month to figure out what bike to buy next, it was worse than shopping for a car ;(
I assumed my 130 drop was pretty mild, but maybe it is not.
Most people here probably have that or more. Remember, I am stiff guy
So I assume reach stack can have nothing to do with the frame. Meaning, if I get a small frame stack, I can easily adjust up or down from the front. But if I get a high frame stock, seems
I become real limited depending on how far down I want my drop from the seat to the aerobars?
I sure love learning about this stuff on ST.
Thanks for the inputs.
Frame stack and reach has an impact on pad stack and reach. No matter what you do, the lowest your stack could be would be the frame stack + some thickness for the pad and other things… and there is some upper limit on how high you can spacer it. There is some ideal range of stack where you have enough room to have pads, but not so much you need a huge pile of spacers.
