I’m pretty sure I’ll be signing up for the Ironman Louisville and was wanting to book a room before rates skyrocketed. Anyone know what is near the race site? I found a Best Western about 6 miles away from city center for only 69 a nite. I’d like to get closer tho if possible. Thanks for the help.

Mike, I appreciate the link. It will come in handy when I book. I guess I need to elaborate on what I’m requesting though. I’ve never been to Louisville and have no idea where to stay to be near the finish line. I planned on staying as close as I can afford so I thought I would go online, put in the dates and work my way out as the prices/availablity are in sync with what I need. I’d hate to book a room six miles away when there’s a similar one two miles away. I figured surely we have some st’ers who know the area.
There’s certainly ST’ers from the area; you probably need to post this during the week to get some feedback and/or search through the threads this past week or so on similar topics to get the local insight.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Sunspree for IMFL in 2003. Very nice place and only a few miles from the race. It has a huge outdoor jacuzzi that felt great after the race. Good luck.

am in louisville quite a bit for work. race is finishing in the 4th Street Live entertainment/outdoor mall on 4th and Muhammed Ali Blvd. the closet hotels are:
seelbach hilton
hyatt
galt house hotel and suite
these are are on 4th and within 100 m of finish, however there are at least 12 hotels in downtown area that are with in a quarter of mile.
louisville is a great city. definately should check this out, if you any where in midwest. i’ll be here for sure. good luck. see you at the races.
