I’m trying to find a new Tri Shoe. I’ve worn Shimano for many years and wanted to give these a shot. The pair I got were bigger than expected so returned them. I’m curious if you have worn LG tri shoes what you think about them. I can’t seem to find the size I want for a reasonable price. Not sure I should stick with Shimano or go with LG or Pearl Izumi.

I have a pair of LG Tri shoes
I cut off the straps and the loop on the back.
Put a small hole in the heel area to loop a rubber band to tie on the bike for T1
Took out the insoles
As well as shaved down the plastic on the bottom intended to help with waking in them
I put Velcro’s on the closure flap
They work great for flying mounts.
I have well over 30,000 miles on them between outside and trainer. They are great for me
Shoes can be in my experience an individual thing. I have kind of a wide foot but not so much that it makes normal shoes unwearable but my feet don’t slide right into them. Before I went to LG I had a pair of Bont’s that I never could get comfortable in and had a hot spot on my foot.
I digress, I have two pair of LGs now. I have the Tri-400 and the Course Air Lites. Essentially the same shoe with different uppers. I sized up a half size in the Tri-400s and store them with a softball in them… something I used to do with my baseball player days to form the pocket.
I’m really very happy with them and the rubber band loop works well for flying mounts. Straps close easy, sole is good and stiff, they’re light… everything I want/need in a shoe. Good design for triathlon.
Customer service is good as well… I have had to replace the plates in the shoe the cleats mount too. They’ve changed to a solid metal design recently which might work better. For me having these somewhat serviceable is good since I’m a bit of a heavy sweater.
For me they’re super comfortable which is why I bought the Course Air Lite version of the shoe for my road bike.
