Louis Garneau status?

I contacted LG customer service a few weeks ago and haven’t heard a thing. Called the number on their site and get a fast busy. I’m trying to get a part for one of their products but wonder if something is going on with them.

Everything appears to be on clearance prices, very limited stock and customer service isn’t responding… anyone have any good information on this?

It looks like (for Canada at least) Lole has purchased them (including Sugoi) via insolvency 5 weeks ago.

What a shame, they made my favorite bibs for a while.

Maybe they’ll start answering support e-mail… otherwise bummer.

I’ve bought a lot of their stuff over the years.

Appreciate the links.

It is bummer to see. It has been a great run.

For those who don’t know, Louis Garneau was a Canadian National Team Cyclist in the late 70’s (pursuit national champion), After his cycling career him and his wife built out this company. Ten years after him (or so) Gervai Rioux a national team cyclist who also raced with Steve Bauer started Argon 18. It’s pretty cool that these guys started as riders and then went on to build these companies with some level of global cycling impact from their Quebec roots. My best friend (RIP) was from the same town in North Eastern Quebec as Gervais (Mont Joli) and was actually inspired by Gervais’ exploits in cycling and we would go do some of the Gervais workouts. Regardless some background to these Quebec based brands. Most of you guys know about Cervelo starting in Montreal when Gerard and Phil White were students/grads out of McGill (they started their company around 5 years after Gervais). Quite the impact all these Quebec companies have had.

Same - the original Carbon Bib Shorts were amazing. Best fitting, most comfortable bib shorts, that I have ever owned - and not crazy expensive either as some of the bib shorts from some of the mfgs are now - $400?? Good grief! I still have some, that have been retired from outdoor use and are now my dedicated trainer/rollers bibs for indoor riding.

As noted earlier - the Company was sold recently, although it was in bankruptcy protection, so not in great shape.

Tough business. Rapha just reported it’s 7th significant yearly loss in a row! If not for generous money from the Walton Family, Rapha would be out of business I suspect as well!

LG has been extreme discounting for years.
No surprise they’ve been sold.

The clothing market is flooded with so many brands, it’s crazy.
I was looking at a new puffy jacket this month and have about a thousand choices. I’ve bought nothing.
