Does anybody have any good bike routes for SF that they’d be willing to share? I’m not afraid of a lot of climbing and am looking for something in the 30-40 mile range as far as distance; looking towards the lower end of that range if there is a lot of climbing though. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!
SF bay area is pretty big.
Here are lots of rides from all sorts of locations.

There are also a bunch of Sonoma County rides here. http://srcc.memberlodge.com/
These should keep you riding for awhile.

ring of fire. Highly recommended.
Where are you looking to start/end? The SF Bay Area is a big space so if you help narrow it down a little we could make some more specific recommendations. Do you want to see the ocean, enjoy a great view, ride some of the famed climbs in the area?
.
I can give you turn by turn instructions for some great rides in the Easy Bay, but like Darrell said, where do you want to start/end?
Well I plan on starting and ending in the Sunset district in San Francisco. Some nice ocean scenery and some nice climbing would be nice, but nothing too hard since I am early in my base period. I was already planning on going up Great Highway and then on through Sea Cliff and then up to GG park and possibly head up to Sausalito and/or San Rafael. I found some rides on mapmyride.com but am too cheap to pay for an actual route slip.
Thank you guys for the great input btw!!! Much appreciated.
Your rides will pretty much start with going across the Golden Gate Bridge. There are a lot of options from there such as Paradise Loop, Mount Tam (might be pushing your mileage limit), Alpine Dam, or out to Tiburon. Cathy is probably more familiar with those routes than I am but a Google search will turn up more results.
You could ride south from the Sunset too. Head down the Great Highway, hop on 280 for one exit (OK to do on a bike), with will dump you out on Skyline. From the top of Millbrae/Daly City you have a good view of the bay and the SF airport.
.
The downside to the GG bridge is tourists, stop signs, and traffic. Getting through Sausalito is agony. Here’s my new favorite out-and-back, a modified version of what you mention:

At mile 16.5 or so, you veer on to a bike path for a short while. It’s about as nice as you can get in the S.F. area. Low traffic, maximum bike lanes, minimal stop lights, and decent climbing, but lots of flats, too. Just go out and back. Adjust milage as needed.
