Can anyone recommend a good cycling camp with decent climbing in the early Spring? USA based.
Take your bike to the Tour of Georgia. Great biking, weather, and you’ll get to ride when you want. It’s easy to find people to ride with.
Cyclists follow the tour of GA route? Wouldn’t all the hotels be booked? Plus, have you ever seen the movie Deliverance about the GA back country?
ChuckieV has an excellent tri camp in Solvang CA from Feb 27 to Mar 4. Cost is $400 for the camp. Rooms can be booked at $52 a night.
Solvang is near Santa Barbara, less than 2 hours from LAX. Solvang has some excellent hills. Lance has trained often in the area in the past. I have a friend who has attended 2 ChuckieV camps and swears they are the best value around. You’ll ride 2-5 hours a day, along with work in the other sports. Details on the cost and itinerary can be found at chuckiev.com.
I’m not affiliated with ChuckieV or the camp, I just have heard it is very good.
Good luck,
Mark

Climbing in Texas is challenging (if you’re from Chicago), but it’s not crazy climbing. The Texas location runs through some of the same areas Lance used to ride back in the day.
You could try one of Frankie Andreau’s camps. They are held in Georgia and have a great deal of climbing as part of the program.
Aldo Scfalcin (sp?) holds a camp in Alabama in the early spring and is a highly reputable coach.
Either of these would be a good choice. Good luck and happy training.
Cycle-Smart tucson camp
(I’m not affiliated w/ them - but they’re good guys.)
.
Hell week prices are actually pretty reasonable. Thanks for the info.
I’m definitely looking to ride about 100-120 miles a day for a week, with climbing. So these programs seem pretty close to what I’m looking for.

I haven’t found Chuckie’s cycling camp, but I am impressed with his triathlon camp.
