Look 586 UD worth it?

Hi fellas. New to the country and new to the forum…friend told me about it and I must say I agree…good place to be.

As I said, new to country and unfamiliar with bikes here and prices. I’m from NZ. Done a few Tri’s and keen for more. Currently riding an Alu bike I built from parts in 2002. Only good thing is its mine and paid for and has Mavic Ksyrium wheels. Otherwise I’d love to upgrade but since I mostly ride distance I will wait to invest in a Tri specific bike.

Question is…Look 586 UD for $2000 worth it? I’ve riden them in store and it fits well. Here are other specs. Have a feeling eBay isn’t the way to go and would rather an awesome conditon used higher spec bike.
WHEELS: Fulcrum Racing 6 wheelset. 24/20 lacing with cartridge bearing hubs.

TIRES: Hutchinson Equinox, 700 x 23c, folding

DRIVETRAIN: Shimano Ultegra Mechanical rear derailleur & braze-on 105 front, Ultegra 6700 shifters, Ultegra FC-6750 50/34 crankset with Shimano threaded bottom bracket, and Shimano 4600 11-25 cassette.

BRAKESET: Shimano BR561 Super SLR dual pivot calipers with cartridge pads & Ultegra STI carbon brake levers.

COCKPIT: Deda RHM01 handlebars (42cm), Deda Zero One stem (110mm), Look Ergopost 27.2mm carbon fiber seatpost, and Selle San Marco Ponza saddle.

Thanks for your help!!

Let me be the first to say “welcome”! Having visited NZ only for vacation, I hope you don’t find the move to be too much of a disappointment (NZ seems ideal in terms of weather, scenery & not many people but I do hate most of the chip seal roads).

Anyway, let me also be the first to ask if the bike fits you. I know very little about fit but it is important. Be sure to check out the ST classifieds when you find what bikes would fit you. The prices are often better than ebay as members just want to get rid of stuff they no longer need and not necessarily looking to get the best price.

Thank you Randy!

Yup…I’m certainly missing NZ! Though I grant you…the roads here are better. Least there is that!

Yup. Bike fits great. Just not sure of spec and price. And yes…get the impression these classifieds could be a gem!

You may want to edit the title to include the price (e.g. Look 586 for $2K–is it worth it?). That may get more responses. I am no good with determining what’s a good price for bikes. Once I determine what I want, I usually pay too much!
