Long Torso / Short Legs...Best Bike Choices?

I am 6’0’’ tall with a 32" inseam. Which of the popular manufacturers (Cervelo, Specialized, Giant, Trek, etc.) are best suited for the longer torso scenario? Thanks.

depends how low of a position you want to get into

broken record!

Earlier this season when I was shopping for a new bike I encountered the Cervelo P3 and most of the Felt bikes to be pretty good for your body type. I’m just the opposite so I ended up on a Cannondale.

I am the same, and while Cervelo was good for me, I have found my Ridley Dean to be even better. Fits amazingly well!

Good point, I am not very aero as I have a bad lower back and am generally stiff as a board…but I try.

What are you riding now? It seems like if one has a bad back, one really doesn’t need the long and low bikes unless one can get low in spite of the bad back.

Currently I am on a Giant Trinity C-1 size Medium with a 80mm stem. Really not sure if it fits me or not…seems small but my fitter (very good reputation) changed me from a 110mm stem to the 80 amongst other adjustments. I was told I am between the Medium and Large on the Giant. I’ve been riding like this for 2 years now. Looking for a new frame and just want to start in the right place and not have to compensate with overly long/short stems, etc. I’m thinking in general probably need something a little bigger like a Large or 56cm.

How about a photo? 80 seems really short for someone your height but there’s all sorts of reasons to use different length stems.

Sorry, no pics available.

x2. I ran into the same problem earlier this year. From what I’ve been told there are a lot more bikes out there for your body type than the short torso, long legged people. I went in looking for Felt and the LBS said that would be one of the worst fits for me, so it would probably work for you. I ended up on a QR Seduza.

i am the opposite, short torso, so would say the giant trinity advanced SL–it is LONG for me (I am still really hoping to make it work). It is very adjustible as far as front end height, not so much length. my understanding from talking to my fitter is that the trinity advanced sl is very different than earlier trinity models. If I had not already purchased the bike, he would have steered me toward, scott, stock parlee MT, and possibly a 54 felt–although he did not really recommend the felt (i am 5’10" and mostly legs). So I think if you stay away from those you will have a better chance of success.
good luck, it is certainly frustrating to feel like you are compromised on the bike

I’m a longer in the legs than torso and I rode a Felt B2 for about a season and a half. Fit like absolute shit. I had two pro fittings done (one lasting for 4 hours) and there was just so much adjusting we could do to make it somewhat okay to ride. I finally got sick of being uncomfortable and bought a Trek Speed Concept. It fits way better. Plus it gave me a good reason to get a Speed Concept.
