Still wearing mine. I got it right before my Grandma passed with Cancer and my dad has now been diagnosed with Cancer as well. Reminds me of my Grandma every day when I look at it.
You seem like a complete ass. I could care less who wears a yellow band. If someone wears it b/c it is “trendy” and it raises another dollar for cancer research, great.
I agree, your a schmuck, how do you know that fat guy’s wife didn’t pass away from cancer or whatever. Stop judging other people and live your own life.
Nothing pisses me off more that jerks who like to judge other people without even knowing them. Get over yourself.
The problem with message boards is people tend to write down what they think at any given moment. Quite often it makes you look like an inconsiderate fool. I am guilty of this myself. Think about who wears these and their motivation and you will suddenly realize the true meaning of wearing one.
“Nothing pisses me off more that jerks who like to judge other people without even knowing them. Get over yourself.”
That’s hillarious! Did you mean for it to be so funny? I kinda doubt it.
Here’s something else I found hillarious. About 2 months ago I was riding down a quiet country road and Bubba drove by in his beat up pickup. Seems I inconvenienced him somehow. So he flipped me off. And there, just below that proud bird, was the yellow band.
A few days later I contacted the LAF to try to get their endorsement for a ride I was trying to organize. I wanted to raise money and contribute to the LAF. They required that I give them $100 just to talk about whether or not they might want to be associated with my event. It was really outrageous. I can understand that they need to qualify people soliciting involvement with them, but this came off like … well … it just really sucked.
After those incidents, I decided to retire my bracelet. They got my buck. The rest of my donations are going to the Red Cross for a while.
I just replaced mine a few months ago with a new one to commemorate being cancer-free for 5 years now. I could really give a shit what you think about me.
Perhaps all you all assholes missed the part in my post where I wrote:
" I can’t stand to see some fat, smoking slob wearing one because they think it is cool. "
The problem being is that they 1. smoke, and therefore don’t give a shit about themselves or cancer research, those people use up more medical resources than they “contributed” by buying a bracelet.
So get off you high horses.
BTW: If you don’t give a shit about what I write then no need to respond. Obviously you do give a shit.

Yeah…fat people that smoke couldn’t possibly have known someone who was touched by cancer, and wouldn’t care about supporting a good cause.
Please resist the urge to ever post anything again…because you sir, are an idiot.
If by good cause you mean the tobacco companies who are the leading cause of preventable cancer deaths in the world, then sure you are right.
Why don’t those smokers take the money that they are wasting killing themselves and those around them from secondhand smoke and give it to cancer research, rather than 1. buy a livestrong or knock of bracelet, 2. contribute to sick days away from work, 3. contribute to the rising cost of medical care for everyone.
Their $1 dollar (look I’m cool) bracelet isn’t worth the silicone around their wrist.
I don’t care if someone smokes or is fat…I’m glad they bought a livestrong bracelet. Granted, I wish they didn’t smoke and were somewhat fit. But don’t judge a person until you walk a mile in their shoes. You have no idea how they arrived at this point in their life. Don’t assume that they think their cool because they have a yellow bracelet…that is just preposterous
