Thank you! I really look forward to more like this as it’s an important part of our sports and it is so refreshing to see a real review rather than a rubber stamped “They’re all great shoes and the only fault I can find are the ends of the shoe laces on this one aren’t the color I want” fluff that tends to be in even the good running magazines. I can’t imagine these fake reviews where no real flaw is found and no good info is given actually influence buying behavior but I have certainly been proven wrong before. Anyway, thank you for the insightful and honest review!
I agree no fluff, but its really hard to find running shoe reviews where there isn’t a lot of reviewer bias. It always seems that “shoe experts” try to convince us all that we ought to be looking at something else rather than understanding why we choose what we do as noted by race statistics on footware. I quit going to a good local in-store shop because they kept trying to sell me Saucony all the time … I even bought a pair from them before I finally decided I really didn’t like them at all in how they felt on my feet. I know shoes are individual choices, but I’ll continue to use my Asics because they have provided long term good results for me… and how my feet feel is not influenced by people trying to influence my purchase. We’ll see what comes further, but I think this was a biased review;-)

First, this is a great new resource on Slowtwitch. My only comment would be that the writer/reviewer dinged the Asics shoes for not having enough technological advances. In my quest to find shoes that fit my Barney Rubble feet, that’s a selling point! I swear by the Speedstar 3. I’m just hoping they don’t get changed in a year.
I was curious as to why the Gel-Bandito wasn’t included for the Asics. I realize it’s listed as a flat, but if you look at it, it really seems more to me of a really light weight trainer and it has the newest tech in it.
I agree, particularly with the medial posting, the Bandito feels more like a lightweight trainer than a flat.
My only complaint, is that in his evaluation of the Asics DS Trainer he only compared it to the 13, which, in my opinion and most others, was a significant change from the 12 and earlier versions. This has probably been beat to death, but I really miss the DS trainer.
im totally hooked on the speedstar 3s myself. im really curious to why they didnt use solyte to get it under 9 oz.
its a ploy against asics i’m telling you.
I’m fine with it just the way it is. With the denser sole, I can wear it on any of my runs without considering the size of the gravel or loose stuff. With the lighter shoe, I get a little too much rock feedback…
the mizuno ronains are awesome 8 oz. low profile, smooth ride, cushion is amazing for ‘us’ chi runners.
but imagine if they kept it the same thickness and used solyte.
Great that we don’t have santised reviews on shoes.
Honest reviews from a person who has the knowledge.
I am sure the newbies will find this even more helpful than the more experienced.
you sir are an idiot. discrediting someone’s opinion based on status is a logical fallacy. not only that, your post did absolutely nothing for anyone.

I am sure this is only a reflection of your opinion.
