Lifespan of Fizik Arione?

I have a Fizik Arione saddle with about 5700 miles on it. Saddle has been great, but over the past couple of rides the cover has begun to peel off the foam. It peels back about halfway at this point. Two questions… Is it unreasonable to expect that a $140 saddle should last longer than this; and if so, what would be the best stuff to use on it to repair it? I’ve tried rubber cement and superglue, to no avail (obviously I’m no bike mechanic). Thanks!

Call Fizik and see if they will replace it or give you a healthy discount on a new one.

That’s about how long mine lasted. I was a bit pissed off and just tore the entire cover off after it was bugging me so much. I like it better now. Plus it’s ugly and makes me look slow.

I have an arione tri with the silver part on the back- after a ride in the rain last week, the “clear cover” for lack of better terms on the silver part bubbled and started to peel, much like skin from a sunburn- the saddle is about 2 months old MAYBE 2000 miles-
.

I too feel as though Fizik Arione tri saddle material isn’t worth the money I spent on it…

Mine started to rip after 110 miles and three rides… A Fizik rep answered on this forum to send it back to where I purchased it and do an exchange… Being that it was a mail order item, I did’nt feel like dealing with the hassel…

4000+ miles later and the saddle looks like it’s been in a war… I’ve had saddle last 10 years and 20,000+ miles and not look this bad…

Take a look at my post in the classifieds section…

Yup - I love this saddle, but I have been through one already as well
.

Thanks for the responses. Thought I was the only one with Arione issues. I may resort to electrical tape and a neoprene cover, as the saddle is broken in just right and I’d prefer not to shell out the bucks and have to break in a new saddle right now.
