LG Chrono or Rocket?

Those that have seen and used both (if any)…

Which one do you prefer? Why? Is the Chrono significantly cooler?(more air flow?)

I guess it actually depends on the Chrono model which one is cooler. Mine, which is fairly new has 3 vents in the back aswell, while Sergio’s Chrono has only vents on the front.
I found the helmet to be fairly well ventilated, but it is surely heavier than a regular road helmet.

“I found the helmet to be fairly well ventilated, but it is surely heavier than a regular road helmet”

Good piece of info. It will require some training time for the neck!

Go for the Chrono, very nice helmet, I ordered three of them for our pro IM guys, they are well ventilated for a TT lid
.

Anyone tried the LAS crono? It’s $165 via e-bay??

Thanks Herbert for hte race in AZ

BTW, Herbert, I liked the paint job on yours.

I’m guessing its legal? For some reason I remember a thread discussing the legality of painting helmets…seems to me I recall someone claiming it was against the rules, though I find nothing in the USAT rule book. Maybe USCF or something?

Is the LAS legal for USCF and tris?

I was playing with one of those in a store the other day… If I recall correctly, it has a weird “elastic type custom retention device” as opposed to the more comon dial/slide & click system that most helmet manufacturers use nowadays (a la roc-loc). The end result was that it didn’t “hold on” to my head the way other helmets do. It’s a shame, because it’s a wicked looking lid!

Well, I do not know whether it is legal as it has not crossed my mind. Why would you be allowed all kinds of stickers including that “photo helmet” number on your helmet?
You got me curious now.

The thread wasn’t discussing whether it was legal or not… people just mentioned that if you paint a helmet you void the warranty, that’s all.

Well, I was responding to this:

I actually saw nothing in this thread in terms of warranty questions.

Had the rocket - shipped it back - too deep in the “tail” and felt unusual - used to have the LG Prologue

Bought the Chrono - great lid - it is heavier than a regular helmet - reminds me a lot in style - to the old cinelli time trial helmets of the 80’s.

You can pick them up online now for $69.99 (triall3sports.com)

Used the chrono at IMAZ - no problem with overheating FWIW
