Lew Racing Wheels - Defunct?

Went to the Lew Racing website (http://www.lewracing.com/index.html) this morning to drool over / dream about their wheelsets & the “Convexo” 780 gram disc wheel and it seems that the company may not actually be in business anymore – the website still works in general, but “Click to Order” links are dead and there’s no phone number listed anywhere on the site as far as I can tell. I had the notion of taking a trip to the Red Rock Resort outside Vegas to get some test riding in on the VT-1 tubulars (~880 grams) to see what they’re like, but that program seems to be defunct as well.

Anyone know for sure if they’re still in business or not? Wouldn’t be surprised that they’ve shut down, necessarily, given the ungodly expensive price tag for their products, but still would be a shame…

defunct and out of business…google it and you can read some interesting “business practices” he engaged in…not so different than some of the dealings ST’ers are currently having with other individuals…

not sure the entire outcome of his problems, however Reynolds has thrown him a lifeline and he he is employed there, hopefully as an engineer only…you will be seeing some new products for 2010 that he is working on under the Reynolds name…in addition to supplying Ritchey with some rims for their SuperLogic wheels…

oh dear… so long Lew, nice products but perhaps at the wrong time
