And I’ll be there! oh wait…

I tried the trainer for 15 minutes of easy spinning last weekend and proceeded to have arrythmia issues for the next two days. looks like my $70 entry fee gets written off as going to a good cause.

have fun mike!

If you have never tried PowerCranks check us out at the expo. Oh, and there will be a pair available at the auction, hopefully for a not very good price.

i volunteered to be one of the rolling course marshals, so if you do something that you shouldn’t be, i might say to stop. i’ll be in a morgan stanley / team spine / specialized team kit.

There are rules in a Gran Fondo? I am curious about what to expect. I suspect there will be some pretty hard efforts at the front with the level of riders there but I am going to treat it more like a century ride and just enjoy it. Weather is looking perfect!

Rule #1. Have fun.
Rule #2. Don’t be an idiot.

I’ll be there. Am in Santa Rosa now. Great riding around here!!

That was a great ride, with a lot of climbing. Beautiful scenery, especially the descent to the coast. Sure was windy, though, and I almost got blown off the road (I’m not a light guy). The pack riding at the beginning was nerve-wracking. It’s one thing to ride in a pack with a bunch of other racers, and entirely another thing to ride with people who don’t really seem to know what they’re doing. I was genuinely amazed not to see any crashes in the pack.

There were unfortunately quite a few crashes on the descents, which were steep, twisty, and bumpy in places. My friend almost ate pavement at 30 mph after hitting a bump in a turn. I saw his rear wheel kick out nearly 45 degrees.

Definitely will return next year.
