Lets talk tan lines

After my first full “season” of triathlon AND living in Miami Tan lines have just become a part of my life. Some I have been more meticulous (Leg tan/sock tan) by always matching same length no matter racing or training. Some others (arm/shoulder/back tan) unfortunately were not so well taken care of as my top training variously depending on training/racing and short sleeve/sleeveless.

Question is, now that the season is over or looking into other sports - what does one do about their tan lines? Should one look to even the legs/arms/torso out? Does one not do anything and keep the same lines going once I start over?

So tell me about, what will you do about your tan lines now that season is over/winter is here!

PS

Swim in a speedo.

Run in the shortest shorts you can find… And no shirt

The result is a tan line that only wifey will ever see. I live in Florida too.

LOL

Bundle up! Hopefully yours disappear!

i’m pretty sure mine are permanent at this point. nothing to be done about them.

You could always move somewhere with more seasons than hot, very hot, and OMG it’s like h*** hot. Then you would be forced to wear clothes that cover your entire body and not have to worry about tan lines.

edit: pink was too pink … and apparently it was still to pink. haha

I have a triathlon tramp stamp tan line that I’ve accepted as being permanent. It’s never going to go away. Every winter I get it almost gone, then I burn/tan/burn/tan/burn/tan it all over again when the sun comes back out.

Yup Speedo’s… sure you’ll get a white (or other) ass tan line but other than that… no lines…

Oh and coming from the skin cancer capital of the World (Queensland) use factor 50spf, especially on the upper arms tops of legs, ears and nose… they all get a hammering on the bike (where we spend the greatest time exposed to the sun…
Or move to Wales…

Yes. All of this.

This photo was taken 2-1/2 months after Kona a few years back, before I started regularly wearing a speedo to the (outdoor) pool. http://i1375.photobucket.com/albums/ag455/sbjohnso/167541_960933015473_7385452_n_zps876de12b.jpg

And this is exactly why I cannot wear a two piece tri suit!! You sir are more of a man than I am as you are willing to pay the price of tri-amp stamp tan.

I would have no problem wearing a speedo but unfortunately it would not matter as I swim in a indoor pool due to being the closest to my house and job!

But yes I have rocked the look of swimwear and cycling tans. Never pretty!

Someone has some explaining to do.

I get out my sharpie and mark my tan lines so I can line up my tops/shorts next season.
