Alright, being an inflexible big guy, I fully understand that there is a lot more variables to bike speed than just power – I also understand that this slowtwitch.com.
Having said that, I know there is a wide range of people, experience and muscle fiber types out there and I’m really interested in who has what under the hood and what kind of super natural freaks exist in the dark corners of ST (I am certainly not one of them).
In this thread I want you to post the following:
Years of structured training (if any)
What kind of riding you do, be it Tri, TT only, Roadie, BMX, etc. If you do more than one, estimate the time you dedicate to each type.
Your weight
Your peak power curve stats
This is not a back door brag thread, its a front door brag thread. Have at it.

Have you ever tried intervals or efforts 5min’s or lower? Because if you have, I’ve never seen anyone with that bad of numbers. But looks to me almost like they are part of 20min or longer efforts.

Dude, that is the smallest dick I have ever seen! No, I am not showing you mine.
Tri until this past spring where I shifted to full time roadie, currently cat 3. TT specialist if anything (check out my relatively horrid anaerobic power…)
I grabbed it from PowerAgent. Looks like the date was all from one or two training sessions for 2010. I don’t usually pay attention to this sort of stuff so maybe I didn’t generate it right?? I do lots of power intervals of short duration, lots of steady state, under/overs etc. Maybe I just suck?? Who the hell knows.
^first u could win any cat 3 sprint with those numbers. Turst me. talking to the guy two posts above
2 years of “training” first real year were i focused on it
cat 2 junior roadie
6 1 155 lbs
1s-1300
5s-1195 (note peak has never lead to a high 5 second wattage, always just a 1250-1220 peak that leads to a high 5s).
10s-1141
20s-997
1m-580 (never truly tested this)
5m-420
10m-365 but ive never done a 10 minute test for real
20m-361
30m-same as 10 m never done a all out 30 minute test
1h-345
Structured Training: Since April 1st
Riding: All of my miles have been on my Tri bike
Other bikes or whatever: owned a road bike since I was 15… use to think 20 mile rides were long
Weight: 170
Power scores
5 min- 584
10 min- 480
7.35 mile TT - 385
These are off of strava which come off my garmin 800… I have no idea if they are right… I know nothing about power really… just that it costs alot
Only hard evidence
Sprint Tri in April = 20.2 mph
Sprint tri in August = 25.4 mph
Weight: ~157
:05 - 1002
:30 - 685
:60 - 504
4 min - 445
10 min - 392
20 min - 380 (actually 25 min, was best # I had)
60 min - 292 (only other close time was a 50 min TT at 5k altitude, at 319)
90 min - 291
3 hours - 257
I like numbers, and I don’t race so it’s not like I’m giving any secrets away here.
about a year of structured training. Got my first bike (a hybrid) right at 2 years ago.
road riding, maybe 80mi/week
6’1" 158lbs
1sec: 1440w
5sec: 1308w
10sec: 1205w
30sec: 840w
60sec: 580w
5min: 335w
20min: 282w (haven’t really done maximal 20min or longer tests recently, this is probably more like 300w)
60min: 260w (same as above, probably more like 280w at the moment)
I may be cursed with sprinters legs, when all I really care about is endurance.
This year I’ve done the least amount of structured training and the fewest interval sessions yet I seem to be setting PBs for most intervals. Not sure if I’m gradually improving or if the previous interval sessions I did were ineffective relative to just riding.
is it a coincidence that someone whose user name is Big-Pete would want a eWang (or ePeter in this case) measuring competition?
more on point, i’m surprised by how many fast twitchers responded. 900W for 30 seconds, that’s a whole lotta neuromuscular fatigue resistance. those type of numbers would be great for a points or scratch race on the track
