Let me see your cycle storage

I have recently re-arranged my garage and am looking to store 3 bikes on the garage wall. Can anyone recommend a cycle storage rack/hook. I am hoping to hang the bikes on a wall using a front wheel hook or brackets to hold the frame. If you have any suggestions or pictures, it would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks,

Will

Hey Will,

If you use the search function, you should get a number of hits / suggestions. I purchased the rubbermaid fast track system based on recommendations here. It works great and now I can store 6 bikes easily in an area that I used to squeeze in 3-4 bikes. Here’s my lil corner of the garage…the system is relatively inexpensive, sets up easily, and is secure.

Quick! To the Bike Cave!

Thanks for the suggestion and for the picture, that looks like the sort of “bike cave” that I’m after. I’ll def. look at the rubbermaid option.

$42 of stuff @ home depot for 7 bikes (i could have done 8 but I liked the symmetry of 7 so i didn’t offset the 2x4’s)

can i just say i’m jealous?
(i’m assuming those all belong to you)

Wow – that is a nice set-up! I’ve gotta ask a dumb-girl question though. Does it not stress the bike to hang it by one wheel?

No, when you ride your weight is actually hanging from the rim via a spoke (if that makes sense)
.

At times we have 7 and at times we have upwards of 9-10 bikes in our stable. Here is a pic from a couple of years ago. Good old hooks in the garage rafters.

This is the Delta Bochelli bike rack. It was on sale - I think it was about $90, and we had a $50 gift certificate. It works well in our area.
