Legends of the Time Trial

If you are a lover of TT’s, Keith Harrod has put together a Website covering English TT history, with some great pictures. The English, like me, are nut job enthusiast’s of Time Trials . Enjoy!

Don’t be put off by the Times. For a long time (actually prior to 1900), massed start Road Racing was banned in England, so they secretly started to do unannounced TT’s, and over the years, turned it into a fine art. But -

  1. They have their own set of equipment rules, not necessarily UCI compliant
  2. Use roads WITH traffic going in the same direction, having a high volume of Lorries (Trucks)
  3. Tend to have Negative elevation, start to finish.

None the less, there are some incredible performances here. Pull up Beryl Burton, one of my favorites, and look at the gears she was turning!!
The navigation is a little complicated, but there are over 40,000 photos on this site!!!
