There goes your free protein.

My condolences. I had an aquaintance go through something similar and its tough to watch. Justice must be served but that does not mean its easy to be involved in for friends and family.

Not a criminal lawyer and not from New Jersey but, as alleged, that’s some relatively serious shit as far as white collar crime goes. Its not a crime of violence but the amounts are large, there is some alleged ripping off the state and its is alleged to have gone on for a while so the “I made a mistake” defense is minimized. I assume New Jersey is no different that whey I am from so your talking a few years not months if one or both of them are convicted but there are tons of variables.

Someone who practices criminal law in the area can give you a pretty reasonable guess at how it will turn out (plea deal, chances of conviction, etc and what the various sentencing probablilities are under the various scenarios. There are fairly well establised patterns to these things.

Ha, unintended humor.

I think that the bit "The state will recommend that Henley be sentenced to seven years in state prison and be ordered to pay a $250,000 anti-money laundering penalty. " for someone cooperating with the prosecutors might give some indication that the prosecutors will be looking for a very serious sentence.

Man, y’all need some sensitivity training. Two jokes in three post, fer cryin’ out loud…

My suspicion is that a family member(s) have made immunity deals, presuming that sort of thing happens in these kinds of cases. That wouldn’t bode well, either. The state unemployment fund part is particularly problematic.
