Triathlon community. I need some advice. I am looking to purchase an aero helmet for the upcoming tri season. I have really been looking into the Lazer Tardiz. I was wanting to get some first hand accounts from people that have used the helmet. Good or bad. Thanks for all of the help

why that helmet?
Price range is about what I am looking to spend and I have been reading a lot of reviews from different sites and it seems to have gotten really good ratings. Open to other suggestions though.
I bought one last year and raced on it twice, I thought it was fine. Easy to get on and off, not too warm (in Phoenix even). I think it made me faster but I have no concrete evidence to back that up. No complaints.
I had one and liked it ok. Never got the top rubber gasket to stay in place so I taped over that.
It whistled at over 23mph and I picked up a P-09 instead.
Well if you want to go fast then it’s not the helmet I would choose for anyone…except M45-49. Those guys should use it and often.
Sadly its really the only one that fits me comfortably so I can’t compare it to anything else but I like it well enough. Adjusts easily. Not too hot, etc. I have no complaints other than my freakishly sized head.
I raced in one for a few years, including IMMT in 2013. Last year I raced IMMT again and my bike split was 15 min faster (4:51 vs 5:06) on similar watts while wearing a Giro A2. I had changed a few other things as well, but definitely feel that the Lazer wasn’t the fastest helmet for me.
As desert dude said, the helmet isnt known to be as aero as other choices. I would recommend a different helmet if you are going to spend the money.
I’ve had mine for 3 years now and like it. I did purchase a visor, which makes visibility with my head down much better. The clasp, with its magnetic feature, makes getting it on and clasped quickly.
I got it mainly for dealing with the Texas heat. Set all of my PR’s wearing it last year. No complaints.
I used one for races between 2013-2015, but now picked up an evade off ebay for about the same price I paid for the tardiz. Now I’m planning to gift the tardiz to my friends to slow them down at the races.
If you dip your head that tail becomes a sail.I never really mastered putting it on over my ears in T1. The magnetic buckle also took a little practice. You can’t use this thing everyday without looking like tri-geek and having virtually everyone throw shade your way, so would recommend the evade or a bontrager ballista. allows you to train and race the same without being too expensive.
I have a white one for sale. $50 plus shipping. Very good condition. It is comfortable and the water port on top is nice on hot days. I’m selling because I was gifted a Bell Javelin.
I have had mine for two seasons and love it. I added the visor
