JFC are there some stupid people in this world. Whoever is starting this shit needs to be taken out and beaten.
According to these, some have suggested that Hamlin’s collapse was in some way related to being vaccinated — a claim with no proof that has been strongly refuted by doctors. Apparently, the next step in this conspiracy was to allege that Hamlin was not actually attending Sunday’s game at all and the “Hamlin” America saw was a “body double” to cover up for a deceased Hamlin. One key aspect to support the theory, according to conspiracy theorists, was that viewers did not see Hamlin’s face clearly, as it was covered up in winter wear. A less skeptical person might point to the fact that it was 30 degrees and snowing in Buffalo, New York to explain why Hamlin was so bundled up, but to conspiracy theorists, it meant the NFL and other nefarious powers didn’t want America to get a clear look at “Hamlin’s” face.

I think saying stupid alone is too much of an “off the hook”. It’s wilfully and knowingly selfish behavior to create your own alternate reality to live in where your decisions of doing so hurts others.
More and more I think more lawsuits kind of like Alex Jones needs to happen to more “average joe” types where you try to link a decision to not take the vaccine and then die to “my aunt had her sister convince her of this conspiracy and not take it, then she died” and hold that person accountable. Consequences. Personal responsibility.
Imagine lying to someone that it’s safe to walk across a foot bridge then they do and fall and die.
A couple of days ago was privy to exchange from a guy I went to High School with where he was talking about how obviously we are living in the end times and Armageddon is just around the corner (just like it has been for 2000 years) with all kinds of whacky evidence to support his belief.
Not surprisingly, Tucker Carlson was spreading the BS by the next day.
I’m annoyed that fucking M&M caved to Tucker. Because some of the spokescandies were ‘woke?’. With the evidence of ‘woke’ being apparently related to their choice of footwear or something. We live in bizarro world.

I saw that story and thought it just might have been the stupidest thing I’d ever read.
they swapped out Green & Brown’s stilettos for more sensible footgear.
Carlson declared that “M&M’s will not be satisfied until every last cartoon character is deeply unappealing and totally androgynous,” and that when “you’re totally turned off, we’ve achieved equity.”
even i see this as Tucker parodying Tucker. WTH is going on at M&M Mars that they don’t?

I’m more concerned that he was getting turned on by M&M cartoon characters.

The guy is also a legitimate** flat earther**.
You have catch him one of those moments where he inadvertently says “Things are happening** all around the globe** …”

The root to most conspiracy theories is people are uncomfortable with uncertainty and bad things that can happen to them.
So if everyone dying of heart attacks is due to them getting the vaccine- the people who didn’t get the vaccine don’t have to worry about heart attacks. It helps remove personal anxiety about mortality.
Nobody wants to feel like they are susceptible to dying or are falling behind their fellow man.
And isn’t that a lot easier than worrying about cardiovascular disease and how your lifestyle impacts your risk?

That’s why I think these entertainment news media asshats need to be held accountable. I lost a family member to Covid because he bought into their BS.

I’m not so sure. Though that may be part of it. I know a guy who spews this stuff. And one of his favorites was that Kobe Bryant was killed because on his helicopter ride he was on his way to “tell the truth” about something. I had to cut myself off hard from this guy because I had a very real urge to punch him in the face over creating fantasy banking on the death of real children. Among the other adults. And I don’t think enough people take helicopter flights to really worry about them.

There was an a retired couple around here who were going to get vaccinated back around when it first became available until they went to their chiropractor who convinced them of all kinds of anti-vax nonsense. Both got it and ended up dying on the same weekend. Last I saw about in the local paper the dead couple’s son was suing the chiropractor.

Wait a minute, what was the “something”?
Inquiring minds want to know.
(edit: l figured out the something: scud running at low altitude in a helicopter on a foggy day is stupid as hell.)

My n=1 observation of a nutter previous coworker. I think for him it was driven by not being that bright. There were things in our work environment that he clearly had trouble understanding. It seemed like he would cling to his special knowledge because it made him feel like he was the smart one. He was very much on the 9/11 inside job train.
I forget. He was strongly “Q” so it might have been he had details of Hillary’s child sex trafficking. Or maybe he knew the true origins of the then-impending pandemic. I stopped listening quickly after the nuttery reached ‘11’.
