Apparently YouTube is going to start removing all of the Hitler parodies, according to an article in PCWorld. Such a shame if they go through with this. Not only was it a great internet meme, but it was also good publicity for the the movie (Downfall). I’d never heard of it before the meme, but ended up seeing it and really liked it.
Hell, even the director thought the parodies were funny: “Someone sends me the links every time there’s a new one. I think I’ve
seen about 145 of them! Of course, I have to put the sound down when I
watch. Many times the lines are so funny, I laugh out loud, and I’m
laughing about the scene that I staged myself! You couldn’t get a better
compliment as a director.”
