For those of you with a Landice who considered the L7/L8 would be curious for you to weigh in on my predicament.
I’ve pretty much narrowed down my search to either the L7 or L8.
The L8 would be $600-700 more than the L7.
I ran on the L7 this morning and it did seem a bit small at 20x58, but I am also coming from a Pro Form 2000 that is 22x60, so I imagine I could adapt to the smaller running area. In the past I’ve definitely used smaller treadmills without thinking about it…
Curious what folks’ thoughts are. I am leaning towards the L8 right now. Seems like an extra $600-700 is worth it considering I’m already paying $3K+.
Other factors: I have sufficient space for both, I’m 5’10, 165lb. Would use for general running, intervals, etc.
I’m 5’7†and have an L8. I’m sure I would’ve been fine with an L7, but I thought the larger running surface was worth the extra money. I’ve had a few stumbles when doing brick workouts which may have resulted in a wipeout on a smaller surface.
I have an L8 and love it. If you are going to be doing intervals and running 10-12 MPH the longer tread will be of benefit for stride length. If only running 6-7 MPH the L7 would probably suffice. The good thing is that you can’t make a bad purchase with those 2 options. Just depends on what’s most important in your decision. Mine is close to 10 years old and shows no signs of wear. Just had my first servicing done on it as the lower control board died. Replaced under warranty.
Thanks everyone, very helpful responses. I think it sounds like the L8 is probably the way to go. I do occasionally get things up past 10mph for mile repeats etc., so the extra length will be nice. It’s definitely a big investment, but once I am paying $3K+ figure another $600 to get exactly what I want is probably worth it.

Where do you see those prices? Looks like the L7 starts at $4300 (before shipping) and the L8 is $1k more on their site.

Sale price at a local dealer. Delivery is extra, but same price for L7/L8. Was pleasantly surprised after seeing the website prices.
Thanks, that’s good to know. I assumed the online price would be the best, but I guess not. Will check out some local dealers when it’s time to pull the trigger.
L7 felt perfectly fine for cruising along. When going faster, it felt short. Had the local rep film me at those two speeds, on the two treadmills and my sensation was confirmed with my feet placement. I bit the bullet and spent the extra $ for the L8.
