Clearly he dropped out because of the elbow, not the eye. I have not heard he broke anything. Interesting to hear his concern for safety.

I know that there will be all kinds of talk about Lance specifically here, this is a good insight into how hard bike racing really is. There are things that you can control and there are so many things that you can’t control. You can tell that Armstrong is in rough shape, but he’s back up and on the bike in short order and trying to work it out both on his own, with Bruyneel and the race doctor, then trying to decide should he go on and then what to do - they are literally in the middle of no where. Interesting, that Armstrong was not even sure what the protocol was to abandoning as it’s not something that he is familiar with or has had to do often in his career.

The video was lance getting back on his bike after the accident, not the actual accident. It showed Bruyneel talking with him as they rode. I didn’t watch the whole thing as it was 9 minutes plus. I’ll assume he got off the bike at one point near the end of the video.
He looked like he was ready to go into shock if you ask me. He was riding, but clearly in pain and kept wiping the blood dripping down his face. Not a happy camper for sure.
I would say they pulled it not because it showed anything about Lamce, but more because it’s really not something the world needs to be watching. Private stuff. Most of it looks like it was shot from inside the team car.

That looks like the leter part of the video. I didn’t watch that far.
Not really all that big a deal… Lance riding and John talking. I didn’t have the sound on so I couldn’t hear it.
That is some of the same shots, but not from the lance team, where you see and hear first hand all the discussions. I am sure glad I saw the original since it really give a great inside look to racing and crisis management. Just like things I had to do when I was on the crew for RAAM.
Too bad all around.
