Reading the press on lance and possibly peter reid racing in kona. I assume for lance it would not be until at least 2010? and not attempt it this year after the tour?
Does anyone know the odds of Reid racing this year? Is he still keeping fit these days?
Just checked Vegas… odds of Reid doing Kona in '09 = 93.4 to 1.
His current fitness still ranks him in the top 2.4 percentile and he can bench 130lbs 18 times to exhaustion.
I don’t have the same data available yet for Mr. Armstrong but the boys in the lab are on it.
I can tell you that he did have 2 bowel movements yesterday together weighing 9.5 ounces (conversion to metric not available as of press time.)
In golf, as you get older and (presumably) your skills diminish, you play on the senior circuit. This showcases the “older” pros, allowing for good (and fair) competition amongst the pros, as well as giving fans more chances to see their favorites.
Would anyone like to see a similar catagory for the older pros of triathlon?
I thought Tinley had some “legends” circuit awhile back. I suppose after being able to do an IM in low 8’s or better (reid broke 8 hours), maybe there is no appeal to those guys to run 9 or 10+ hour IM’s. But for me, it would be fun to watch the “old” guys still competing.
If triathlon is a healthy lifestyle, then we should promote it at the elite/pro level, past the age of 35, IMO.

He came and graciously spoke to our group at EastSideMultisport (DotCom) last year, and seemed quite at peace, was flying commercially (main gig was flying hunters and fishers to and from private lodges and such, usually in a DeHavilland Beaver or similar plane)and living in Squamish BC (Just down the road from Whistler)
Our sport (well really, MOST sports ) is/are not configured for a senior circuit.
But every year at Kona and a handful of others, it is fun to see and catch up with "the legends, like peter, dave, mark and so on.

I heard the day before yesterday Lance’s two bowel movements weighed in at 9.0 ounces. Going from 9.0 to 9.5 in one day is quite an improvement. He must be on PEDs.
