Does anyone know if you can transfer an entry from person to person for Lake Placid? My wife wants to sign up but wont beable to be there in person. she has some friends that can sign her up if they can transfer it to her. suggestions?

Nope. When you are there to register they give you a number for active.com and only your name can sign up under than number.
Given what happened last year, I would recommend being there in person.

if one of your friend looks close enough to your wife, and she can be without her photo ID for the weekend it might work. that being said its probably a better idea to be there… IMLP is going to be like canada this year with no slots online i predict.
