Laidlow's bike setup?

in watching the T100 footage from london, it looked to me like sam laidlow was running really (really) short crank arms. his knees always seemed super-low and his hips really open.

anyone have any insights into his setup?

In Nice last year he ran 165 mm - I doubt he will go much shorter than that, but who knows. Laidlow is a tall man - 189 cm, so 165 mm may look shorter for him (relatively) maybe?

don’t think i knew he was that tall. 165 would definitely look littler on him.

and he rides at an extremely steep seat angle, which will allow his hips to open

“I don’t think it’s actually possible to ride too steep on a tri bike”

  • Sam Laidlow, to me, when asked about his seat angle choice.

Replying to thread generally:

You’ll notice this thread got a lot leaner. Unfortunately that’s a function of our forum architecture, whereby if you remove a post, it also pulls all the replies to that post (even if that were good, quality discussion) with it.

I feel like I’m having to say this over and over again, which means we’re getting dangerously close to just issuing time-outs to people:

Unless you have physical, first-hand, proof of doping: you do not accuse athletes of doping. Not with thinly veiled references to feelings of athletic performances that turned out being doped, etc.

You can say stuff like “Laidlow’s ability to turn in outstanding race performances out of sheer mediocrity beforehand shocks / astounds me.”

Now. Back to the topic at hand of bike setup / fit.

Thank you!!
