Anyone used L-Carnitine for weight loss or recovery?
Does it work?
it works great from the normal foods I eat… steak, fish, chicken, etc
Which of course would cover vegetarians or vegans.
So need to take it as a supplement then?
FYI.

just completely avoid any source of l-carnitine … see what happens.
your body will make what it needs.
If your a vegetarian then you can supplement with L-Carnitine without these effects.
From their study it’s the bacteria from meat eating in the gut that combines with the L-Carnitine that is in meat which they feel is in need of a closer look.
your body will make what it needs.
and if you put nothing into it, how does one make something out of nothing? Just like those people who use hyperthyriodism as an excuse for being fat.

I think you mean Hypothyroidism

Luckily TMAO effects women more than men

Because if someone told me that I couldnt eat red meat anymore, they may as well kill me now…
Edit: anyone have a copy of the first study? Im interested in just how much carnitine it takes to raise your risk level by a significant amount. I could well be 20 pounds of red meat per week…
Your body doesn’t simply* make* protein. Know what you’re talking about before you post information. This isn’t BT. You’re an idiot.
Haha, good catch. I meant what you knew though…

Side note, there was a thread on this exact topic about 3 weeks ago.

He said that your body can make what it needs…guess what? It some cases it can. If you do not ingest carnitine, your body still has it, because of something called biosynthesis…it is primarily produced in the liver and kidneys from lysine and methionine. You are correct that this is not BT. It is ST…come with facts and data if you are going to call someone an idiot. Can the body make something from nothing? To have nothing would mean no body either…so what are you talking about? Humans can produce 10 of 20 amino acids through biosynthesis. They need the others through diet. It absolutely makes proteins…but not out of thin air…it needs building blocks…some can come from biosynthesis, others from diet.

**Thank you for confusingly restating what I said in the first place. You must be a rocket scientist. This isn’t from a perspective of a fat guy on the couch wondering about L-Carnitine. Most people on ST exercise, therefore they eat, they don’t wait for your biosynthesis smythesis to occur to fuel their lifestyle. **

I did not restate what you said except called it flat out wrong. You are wrong, and according to your logic, therfore an idiot. You said the body can’t make protein. Guess what? It can… So now you are saying we all eat and that is a given. Therefore you can’t argue that “Most people on ST” can make protein. If you had a clue what you were talking about, you would understand that biosynthesis occurs all the time. What does your post to me have to do with you being wrong? You are now just spitting out garbage in an attempt to either sound like you were not wrong, or just further cementing your status as an “idiot”. But hey, I will not impede your progress in the latter, carry on…

If you are completely denied food, your body will eventually start a process called autophagy, where the body literally starts eating itself. It will break down muscles and synthesize what it needs out of that process to keep the organs and vital bits alive and fed, even in times of no food whatsoever.
John
Most people on ST exercise, therefore they eat…
I also like this logic. If you don’t exercise, do you not eat? Also, if they don’t wait for biosynthesis, then “exercisers” just eat every single bio-molecule there is individually? I have heard of mutiV’s, but an all inclusive pill/meals with every bio-molecule in them, so us ST exercisers don’t have to wait for “my” biosynthesis?
Guys, guys, guys!!
Pleas just answer: http://www.scienceinsport.com/sports-nutrition/sis-go-products/ Bull sh** or great?
