Kurt Kinetic "L" Bolt stripped. Alternatives?

I’ve stripped the threads on the “L” shaped bolt and adjustment knob on my Kurt Road Machine. Can anyone suggest a substitute for these while I’m waiting for the replacement parts? Best case would see parts coming from BC → Toronto in a few days; worst case would be coming from WI → BC → Toronto, which I would imagine to be sometime around Kona, 2008. Looking out the window, riding outside is not an option.

I’m not adverse to using pliers to tighten a bolt in lieu of the adjustment knob - I grew up using similar technology to change channels on our family television.

This happened to mine as well. Buy some 1/4(size) 20(threads per inch) all thread rod(stainless steel). Bend(L shape) it in a vise and cut to size. Use a washer and wingnut. Easy to tighten and untighten now and should last forever.

When mine stripped…I had the new one in 2 days. Kurt was very very fast in sending it, they really have their act together.
